Motorcycle Diary II

This is some video from the top-o-the-mountain in Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest spot in Thailand.

It is in the ‘Craig Talks’ diary format, so if you’re looking to see naked natives, you’ll be dissapointed!

It was nice and cool up there…a complete change from being down in the blast furnace that is Summer is Northern Thailand. April is the hottest time there, which is when they have their New Year, Songkran (reuters video). That was a wonderful experience, I couldn’t get any video though. You literally could not carry anything that could not get soaked since you couldn’t escape the festivities. They throw buckets of water on you everywhere you go and high-powered squirt guns are sold at a premium as is ice water! It was the funnest New Year I’ve ever experienced and it is done with kindness as is the Thai way with everything. Those guys don’t have a mean bone in their body!
